Synethsizers
Synthesizers are where I explore sound design the most. I love classic machines like Yamaha DXs, Sequential Prophets, and Roland Jupiters and Junos. I enjoy building patches from scratch and shaping tones that feel alive and playable.
I also built a simple web synthesizer so people can learn the basics of oscillators, filters, and envelopes by experimenting directly in the browser.
For day-to-day production, I recommend Vital. It is free, sounds great, and the interface makes sound design intuitive for both beginners and experienced producers. My preset collection is available here.
Exploration of Space
A custom frame around the official Bandcamp player for reliable playback and cleaner styling.
Open on BandcampI also use a Roland DJ-808 for occasional mixes and live sessions with friends.
Drums
Drums are my favorite way to reset and have fun away from the computer. I like practicing tight grooves, dynamics, and pocket, then applying that feel when I write electronic tracks.
Most sessions focus on timing and control: simple kick-snare-hat patterns, ghost notes, and gradual tempo changes to keep everything steady. It is a different mindset from synthesis, but both train careful listening.
When I jam with friends, drums are where I can react in real time, support the band, and lock in with bass and rhythm guitar. That live energy feeds back into how I arrange and program music later.
